ON Sept. 18, the Obama Administration announced a comprehensive initiative to combat the growing threat of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (Feedstuffs, Sept. 22).

The initiative centers largely on preventing overuse of antibiotics and encouraging the development of new treatments.
