ADM Q2 affected by lower margins

NEWLY released financial results for Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) for the quarter ended June 30 showed that adjusted segment operating profit was $724 million, a 13% decrease from $835 million for the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings were 60 cents per share, down from 79 cents in the same period last year. Net earnings for the quarter were $386 million, or 62 cents per share, and segment operating profit was $808 million.
