Acreage gap in reports questioned

Difference between November NASS and FSA planted acreage estimates larger than normal.

RECENT U.S. Department of Agriculture crop reports have generated uncertainty about the actual size of the planted and harvested acreage of corn and soybeans in 2014.

This came after large differences were revealed between the National Agricultural Statistics Service's (NASS) Nov. 10 "Crop Production" report and the planted acreage reported Nov. 13 by the Farm Service Agency (FSA).
