USPOULTRY develops NPIP biosecurity template

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Assn. (USPOULTRY) has developed a National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) Biosecurity Principles template to support producers who adopt the implementation of NPIP Principles.

As part of a technical reference guide series, the template, along with NPIP audit documents, serves as a tool to start or modify any existing biosecurity program.

The template can be used to track progress during implementation and any continuous improvement activity, USPOULTRY said, noting that it additionally facilitates the program’s maintenance.

The template is an addition to USPOULTRY’s selection of biosecurity resources. It can be downloaded by filling out an application at http://www.uspoultry.org/animal_husbandry/biosecurity.cfm.

Founded in 1947 and based in Tucker, Ga., USPOULTRY is an all-feather organization representing the complete spectrum of today’s poultry industry; its mission is to progressively serve member companies through research, education, communication and technical assistance.
