South Dakota to upgrade animal disease lab

Lab develops and conducts tests to identify animal diseases, creates new protocols to distinguish unique disease strains and develops vaccines and other treatments.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard signed Senate Bill 172 on March 17 to fund an upgrade and expansion to the South Dakota Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (SDADRDL) located on the campus of South Dakota State University. The facility serves as the state animal health laboratory.
