Collegiate inventors take on piglet mortality

University of Iowa students develop piglet monitor to prevent sows from crushing piglets and are working on other swine health monitors.

The Lemelson-MIT Program recently announced the winners of the Lemelson-MIT Student Prize after a nationwide search for the most inventive college students, and one of the awards went to a pair of University of Iowa students who have designed a system to prevent piglet crushing.
