Trump proposes reduction in national monument designations

Boundaries of the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah to be reduced by 85% and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by 50%. 

President Trump spoke in Utah Monday afternoon and revealed his plan to significantly reduce the boundaries of the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah by 85% and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by 50%. This is the first time a president has reduced the size of a national monument in more than 50 years.
