Secretary Perdue announces USDA reorganization

Undersecretary of trade established, while domestic programs - including FSA, NRCS and RMA - are brought under new undersecretary for farm production and conservation.

Rather than add to bureaucracy, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue has decided to make changes at the U.S. Department of Agriculture to better suit domestic and international programs with the creation of a new undersecretary for trade and realigning current agencies into new mission areas.

The action represents the first time the department has undergone a significant reshuffling since 1994.
