NAFTA withdrawal has ag industry concerned

Ag groups say any disruption of trade to Mexico and Canada would have lasting, negative impacts on U.S. farmers.

Reports indicate the Trump administration is drafting an executive order which would begin the withdrawal process from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The withdrawal notice would be sent to Canada and Mexico. At the same time, a letter of intent to renegotiate NAFTA would be sent to Congress as required under Trade Promotion Authority.
