Monsanto provides update on Bayer merger, releases Q1 results

Company reports improved year-over-year results.

As progress continues for the merger with Bayer, Monsanto Co. this week released results for its fiscal 2018 first quarter, with as-reported earnings per share (EPS) growing to 38 cents. The company said early indicators from the first three months -- such as volume and pricing growth for INTACTA RR2 PRO soybeans in South America, improved pricing in glyphosate and more than $85 million in gains from asset sales -- signal that the company is well positioned to deliver on its business goals.<
