JBS holding company agrees to pay $3.2b fine

Company elects new leaders and creates committee to implement global best practices.

JBS S.A. announced May 31 that its holding company, J&F Participações (J&F), entered into a leniency agreement with the Brazilian Federal Prosecutor's Office on May 30, 2017.

The leniency agreement includes paying a fine of 10.3 billion reals ($3.2 billion U.S.) over 25 years, payable solely by J&F for its role in the federal investigations known as Operations Greenfield, Sepsis, Cui Bono, Bullish and Weak Flesh.
