Grassley warns sugar impasse could impact other sectors

Commerce Secretary urged to resolve U.S.-Mexico sugar dispute in a way that does not affect products not directly involved in dispute.

Following word that there is an impasse between Mexico and the U.S. over their sugar dispute, there is some concern that the disagreement could spill over into other agricultural commodities, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) wrote to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

Grassley said any decision should not adversely affect the interests of farmers and agribusinesses.
