Former FDA deputy named new chief

Trump nominates Dr. Scott Gottlieb to serve as commissioner of food and drugs.

President Donald Trump nominated Dr. Scott Gottlieb of Connecticut to be commissioner of food and drugs at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

Gottlieb is a physician, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates.
