Cattle groups request investigation surrounding JBS plant delisting

Groups allege JBS and Cargill conducted antitrust and anticompetitive business.

R-CALF USA and its Ohio affiliate, Buckeye Quality Beef Assn., recently filed a complaint requesting that the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee investigate “potential antitrust and anticompetitive conduct” in the Northeast region of the U.S. that they allege occurred last fall when a JBS-owned beef packer in Souderton, Pa., was delisted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
