U.S. egg exports rise 28.5% in January

Recent cases of highly pathogenic avian flu in U.S. will likely lower egg exports.

According to the American Egg Board (AEB), U.S. egg producers contributed to a whopping 28.5% increase in egg exports for January, bringing the total to 16.4 million doz. at a value of $15.6 million.

However, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said the recent appearance of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Tennessee will likely lower U.S. egg and egg product exports, even though the state does not produce a significant amount of table eggs.
