Red meat, poultry production continues to swell

Production forecasts for 2017 and 2018 both increase.

In the latest “World Agricultural Supply & Demand Estimates” report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture raised the forecast for 2017 total red meat and poultry production to 100.59 billion lb. as a result of higher broiler and turkey production, which more than offset fractionally lower beef and pork production.
