LIVESTOCK MARKETS: U.S. pork exports steady; beef trends higher

Pork exports stabilize after two lower months.

According to statistics released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), September pork export volume was steady with both the August and year-ago levels -- an indication that demand is improving after exports were lower in both July and August. Beef exports, on the other hand, continued to edge higher in volume but jumped substantially in value.
