The U.S. Department of Agriculture's latest “Cold Storage” showed that the total inventory of beef, pork, chicken and turkey as of Feb. 28, 2017, was 2.2 billion lb., a 1.6% decrease from last year but 2.9% higher than January.
Steiner Consulting Group (SCG) in the “Daily Livestock Report” said the pace of increase in inventory was in line with the five-year average.
