U.S. red meat exports slowed moderately in April from the red-hot pace established in March but were still significantly higher year over year, according to statistics released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and compiled by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF).
Beef exports reached 99,786 metric tons (mt) in April, up 13% from a year ago, valued at $550.4 million, up 14%. For January through April, beef exports were up 14% in volume to 392,001 mt and up 18% in value to $2.16
